Removing old metal adaptors from 45s?

Those 'webster-chicago' pieces, any tips on how to get 'em out safely?

    I was afraid I was gonna hear that - I don't recall ever successfully removing one without gauging the hole.

    Put a bolt through the center hole, fasten a nut onto the bolt tightly, put the bolt into a vice, turn and wiggle record.

    Leave em in.
    Haven't tried the "vice method" but the two times I tried this once I cracked the 45 & once I mangled the label around the hole.
