    still holding it down in 2009! that place is family to me for real. rob is THAT dude. i miss getting paid to hang out there, buy records for the shop and kick it with big john, mr. day and john the book man.

    I didn't know Marilu Henner was in that movie - I wonder
    if he got to meet her. When I was like 8 years old and
    watching Taxi I thought she was the hottest thing since
    Cheryl Tiegs.

    It's funny to hear this, as it seems CheapO has a modest, but significant, pop cultural history.

    It is referenced by name around page 120 of Infinite Jest, as a group of junkies are hanging out behind the old location. It was fucked up when I read it, as I had juuuuust come from there.

    Given that this movie is vaguely based on the history of the Boston Phoenix, is the character of 'the duck' based on anyone in real life? Who was putting out bootlegs in boston in the 60s/70s?
