    Thorens TD124. Made in Switzerland in the 60's.
    I still have my Technics but playing a good pressed jazz- or soulrecord on this one is something else.

    Each month a percentage of your wages before taxes gets put aside, resulting in a yearly "vacation cheque" which usually is around one month's wages. So nice, yes, but government-sponsored... No.

    there was an article I read in a magazine recently( Atlantic Monthly maybe?) about the Dutch system - 'creeping socialism' is a right wing rhetorical boogeyman here in the US - so it was kinda interesting to see actual socialism broken down - sounded kinda nice actually - in home nursing aid for new mothers & all that - universal health care
