Yo dudes.Has anyone heard the Version of I Got You (I Feel Good) which is waaaay more low key and tappy ?It used to be on a Soul Compilation CD in a jukebox at a pub I went to, but I have never heard it anywhere since. It wasn't even a particularly raer CD.. had band of gold, abc, move on up... all the usual hits, but this little toe tapper version was on there grooving away.It wasn't the funk version - it was more like a 3 piece jazz outfit, the drummer was doing rimshots instead of snares, it was a little quicker than the norm, but way more subtle... instead of all the brass going "BUM BUM BUM BUM...BWWAAAAAAAAA!" it was more of a "boop boop boop boop - bop!".I think it was studio recording.. definitely late 60's.Damn I loved that version.

If this is what you're talking about, I think it's on one of his Smash albums, James Brown Sings Out Of Sight.

    Music starts at :35.

(Never considered this song "funk" in either version, but that is another thread for another time!) (((smile)))
