This dude was so damn great.I just picked up a gospel LP he did on Checker for Lucy Rodgers called "Soul Sister" with a nice deep gospel sound.a couple years back one of the local dealers I know had an early 70's LP by some woman produced by him on a private LA label, I've been trying to figure it out/ recollect the artist now for several years and I just gotta admit I am not remembering. Anyone else know?and outside of the work he did with the 3 sounds what other LP's did he produce?

A few titles I'd recommend:
Blue Mitchell: Bantu Village
Sheba Baby OST
Freddie Robinson: Off the Cuff
and of course Higgins' solo LPs.
And at least one late 70s Bobby Bland LP.
doh, all LP's I have too, time listen to 'em for the first time all over again.
anyone know the early 70's LA female soul private LP I mentioned above?
Higgins also did a lot of work in the late '70s or maybe it was the early '80s for Bobby Blue Bland. He was also Barbara Acklin's cousin.
I found this for you: http://www.los-angeles-music-week.com/MH.html
i'm starting out with his catalog so i might have to come back to this thread.
I love the Early Blue Mitchell he did: Collision in Black. Cosign on Bantu Village also.
