anyone seen this? caught it on the weekend, i thought it was dope. a first i didnt think i was gona like it but found myself getting lost in the story. He used real life latino ghetto rocker dudes (or so it seems), but I thought latinos in LA have always been involved in rock/punk/skate/thrash scenes, although the movie makes it seem like its a total weird thing...is it that strange seeing latinos not dressed like hip hoppers? what you guys think? Also do you think clint eastwood really did shoot a latino, kid in his house and the cops covered it up?(cus if the rest of the movie is based on real shit...im asuming that part is too)

I don't get the novelty, myself...you're more likely to see Latinos on the rock scene than black folks, I know that much...

So what is this? Like a La Raza version of Afro-Punk?

it seems like he met some dudes from the ghetto who r latino skater into rock and wear tight jeans etc. and he seems to be recreating a day in their life, they go to beverley hills and all crazy shit happens to them.

actors are playing themselves pretty much. its got that 'Kids' vibe (same director), but doesnt really focus on the rock/skate scene or show much music, more like a "Stand By Me' type of tale...but more hectic and mroe ethnic.

you end up feeling for the kids in the movie....

the only L Clark movie I can stand. great great music throughout. we saw it at the Toronto Film Festival a few years ago when it came out and he did a Q&A after. he is a total creep - he had totally insinuated himself into some of the kids' lives outside of the film, going to their houses and shit. I bet the parents couldn't wait for him to leave. AND he dropped the n-bomb.

The film started well but went a little to over the top. Like the everyday shit in the beginning was just as entertaining as the climax. Really disappointed in the way the story developed. It has it's moments but it teetered to far.

I wasn't expecting much so i was surprised when i actually enjoyed it. Definitely loses the plot towards the end though and im not sure i would want to watch it again. LC should hook up with the American Apparel dude and just start a porn company

I actually kinda liked the way it went haywire and The Warriors-esque. The Jeremy Scott and Janice Dickinson cameos were a littyle WTF?, but her bathing scene made me laugh.
