I got to hear biologist Janine Benyus last night talk to a room full of designers about biomicry. This is exciting stuff, check it out.http://asknature.org/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BiomimicryThe wiki page talks about proposed glue from mussels. This is already on the market. http://www.columbiaforestproducts.com/PureBond.aspxThere is no need to use plywood that offgases formaldehyde. Note nothing on the page mentions mussels, the bond they use is reverse engineered from the bond that mussels use to hold onto rocks. The biomimicry movement is trying to get companies that innovate biobased ideas to pay royalties to the habitats where the ideas came from.
