    You have to wait like 15-20 seconds. It starts just like as you would turn on the original arcade from back in the day.

    Such an addictive classic!

    try clicking on the actual window of the game to get the commands to work.

    Yes, that too!

    Took me a while to get to level 20 or something. There's a classic cheat for this game.

    In the first level just let all the ships fly into formation and when they start coming down make sure you only let the two ships at the left side of the screen alive. Then position yourself on the right side of the screen and let them drop bombs for aprox 15 minutes. Watch out as their will be bombs coming down through the right side of the screen as well occasionally so you will have to dodge those.
    After like 15 minutes (sometimes it seems a bit shorter) they will only come down but no longer drop bombs on you. at that point you can shoot them. For the rest of the game there will be no more bomb dropping and it's basically a shooting gallery from there.

    we've got an OG arcade machine of this (and some others) in the cafeteria here at work... some killer sessions have been logged on this and 4 man Gauntlet...

    Just get MAME and download all the ROMS of the Japanese originals, the American counterparts, and various bootleg versions.
