I really wish that rappers would not dignify the RR HOF with an acknowledgment.
Im sorta with you but in Run DMC's case they always called themselves Kings of Rock.
And I think it is also a good way of reminding RnR heads that A. Rock has deeper roots than many acknowledge or appretiate and B. that Hip Hop is just as valid and creative (and rocking!).
Anyone ever catch the BBC doco history of rock? The last episode as they show a variety of classic rock moments had a scene from Style Wars, a dude doing a back spin and PE rocking the stage...which I liked cus they finished on those shots.
Plus once you hang with rock bands you realise alot of their music is a simple as ours except our beats are better! LOL...
