Anybody seen this mockumentary?I know it's supposed to be a comedy but goddamn it scared the hell out of me! I felt very uncomfortable during some of those scenes when he began to lose his hearing. Like super anxious and panicky.Damn. I'm gonna have nightmares now.

I remember this flick when it came out.

Never saw it, but the reviews that I read made it look downright pathetic.

I don't think the reviewers "Got it". It has some cutting insights into the "Emperor's New Clothes" aspects of being a "Celebrity DJ". I caught it while I was channel surfing and ended up laughing along with it, even the gringdonkleous ending.

I liked this too. Not sure why it didn't get better reviews - maybe people were expecting a different kind of comedy but I appreciated the black humour of it. And the badger.

I remember taking a class on radio production, and as part of the introduction the teacher explained briefly about how; radio works, sound travels, etc. Then gave the obligatory health and safety when using audio equipment speech, in which he informed us that if we listened to loud music (around 100db) for just 30 minutes, 15 using headphones, we could well be causing permanent detrimental damage to our hearing.

    I haven't seen the movie.

  • F'ing great movie.

Liked it well enough, thought it was "a bit of fun."

Decent flick. Cosign on the discomfort, though.

It's been a bit since I've seen it, but I remember liking it well enough.

That comma in the thread title messes up the intended meaning completely.

Dude, you may want to rethink this!

    Pete Tong is Mockney innit.

This film just makes me think of ex Blue Peter presenters being edgy. Do not need to see it.

I'm going to make a movie called Brits Abroad. It will involve assault rifles.

Not your disconnect - Herm's! Although re-education camp is not very appealing either.

Brits Abroad... Bigspliff, I would dearly like to invite you to Benidorm.

I have seen Faliraki at dawn

Whenever I travel to the med with English or Americans, I take them to the Cherman side... the beaches are all empty by 11am!

And Scousers, as they're natural comedians. Although I think Brummies sound funnier.

Brummies abroad are the easiest to spot. I am pretty good at it. Hints are fake tan, Ben Sherman, and trimmed brows (on the "lads")

RIGHT! That's it! You're for it! I'm bringing her to the next London meet.

Will there be other meets as I may not make this one?

haha, I dunno what it is but being from Warwicks gets you called both a southern softie and a norvern cunt depending on where you are standing. Can't win. I think that's why I feel at home in NYC!

    at home in NYC!

Well that'll be a 'no' to the UK nerd-off. What are you labelled in NYC then? Friend of Charles & Camilla, or a beer-swilling hooligan?

  • all the americans like to call us limeys....hence we call them yanks! its a vicious cycle.

I dunno if it's viscous (eew), quite friendly really.

  • you're right, quite friendly really, especially since ive met so many more americans since obama came in and so many less canadians....

No offence to your bird, but I am reminded of the old ode

    Hello Ginge, how's your minge?
Nice and red, like yer 'ed?

Never posted on VG, nor Fryers although I have a login on both.
Just thought it would be good to meet a few folks on here since we have a good idea of real world personae; stuck in a moody boozer in the Angel with a bunch of crusties toting slightly torn Tesco carriers and swooning over Slade mis-pressings...not so much*.

    No offence, VG guys!

*I kid, purely for the sake of poor comedy
