turntable repair

i think my technics 1200 is broken. the sound on the left channel is not nearly as strong on the right, and when i'm not playing anything i can hear a rustling on the left speaker. i switched my turntables to see if it could be my mixer, but i got the same results on the other channel. now i'm just wondering what i should do. i assume there are spots that repair turntables but i'm not sure where, especially in the Bay Area. does anybody know what could be wrong and if it's worth fixing or just replacing?

    There's a bunch of guides online detailing it. Here's one:

    If you don't feel comfortable doing it, I think you can get it done relatively cheap by any kind of electronics repair shop. I'm not exactly sure if that's the problem with your setup, but that would be the first thing I would check based on your description.
