Female Soul/Funk version of "Elvis"

Elvis "Don't Be Cruel" - but a female vocalist, soul or funk (I'm not sure, I don't think I've heard this, the question is for a friend of mine)Anyone with any info?

    Barbara Lynn has a version an an early-60's 45 on the Jamie label. More proto-soul than straight soul and definitely NOT funk, but probably the one he's thinking of.
