OK Who else can't embed youtubes?

I know Hemol can't either. I don't think its a cookies thing either since I can't do it from work or home. Check your forum permissions (under Extra information at the bottom of the page).
I'm guessing HTML is disabled for some reason. If so, a moderator should be able to change that for you.
Wait, aren't you supposed to be a mod yourself?

Looks like your code is getting rendered as browser text, which means your < is in the code as

& l t ;

and > is

& g t ;

(view source and you'll see what I mean.
So basically it keeps the embed tags from being rendered properly, thus the problem.

I'm not sure why it would be doing that unless your posts are set to not allow HTML. Might be a bug.

I tried to change my permissions, to turn html on and then back off, but I don't think I'm allowed to do that.

you need to reply the oldschool way (you know, with the graemlins.)



select 'using HTML and UBBcode' and you are good to go.

for some reason the dfault is 'Using UBBcode which does not support HTML, thus: you are fucked.

well that was weird. So does everybody know to use that drop down every time they post a video or was I the only one that didn't know? How can I set my default to be the "using HTML and UBBCode" option?

I've never seen that drop-down option before. Doesn't show up when I reply.
And the quick reply works just fine with HTML for me.

I don't have access to the dropdown either. I just click "Quote" on someone else's post where they've embedded one, remove the [ q u o t e ] bits, and change the YouTube ID in their quoted code to match the one I want to post.
