Who Has An IMac That Freezes?

straight out the box. freezing iChat. Safari. wont even force quit and i have to manually shut down. anyone experiencing this? i cant find anything online with a solution....

    It's probably a bad memory chip. They're easy enough to swap out, they're underneath the monitor. Just 2 screws. I had this happen to me once, only the RAM chip wasn't seated properly. Took it out, popped it back in and it was fine.

    Don't open that shit! Take it in -- they might could void your warranty if they find out that you were horsin' 'round with chips and what not.

    The area which holds the memory chips is completely user-accessible. It does not void your warranty.
