walter gibbons question

did gibbons do any production in his mid-80s post-born-again phase other than strafe "set it off", those two arthur russell 12"s and that "calling all kids" mix? always been curious what else he might have cooked up in that era as those records are all mind blowing...would be interesting to see if there was some kind of a middle ground between the straight dancefloor murder of the strafe track and the more experimental stuff he did for russell.

There's a few other Jus Born releases from around the same time as Strafe - mostly "Set it Off" reworks though.

ah, thanks. yeah i've heard that cover version of "set it off" but didn't realize he was behind that one too. looks like there's one other non-"set it off" release...arts and craft "i've been searching"

There was a Betty Lavette remix he did for West End around 1979/1980 which I'm not too familiar with, but which (in its full 11-minute version) is supposedly a precursor to all that freaky dubbed-out disco swag which was ruling for a couple of years in the early 80s.

There is another jus born record that is sort of a post-boogie pre-house sound. It kind of sits in no man's land, and it is kind of great and shitty at the same time too.
