red vs purple question...

Capitol records late 70s releases, same cat nr different label colour, which pressing is the first one, the red or the dark purple label???

the red label came first (it looks orange to me)

theyd been working the red/orange, with the logo on the bottom, since late '72

but theyd been gradually incorporating the purple since '77, i think...at first they only used the purple for certain artists, like steve miller, but i believe everybody got the purple labels around '79/'80
