I used to mess with Cubase and/or CoolEdit but I'd always run into problems with latency. Is this a good investment?Tascam DP-004 ($200)

I got a lot of good use out of Roland vs-880, they are dirt cheap these days. You need to dig up a SCSI cd writer, unless you are mixing to an external device.
That little thing looks tight, though.

Herm: why not just use a computer-based multitrack?
Someone on strut turned me onto Reaper and that shit is the truth.
