Well if you're Catholic then he'd be Samuel L. Jackson.

C of E, then more like Morgan Freeman.

Is it just me or did Timberlake's follow up kind of carry all the weight of Callista Flockhardt's shadow?

You'll be in the minority here Jimster. For me personally, and in all seriousness, I thought his follow up was a more consistent album than Justified from beginning to end (though I would have happily dropped Love Sounds and just had Future Sex), gets far more play these days, and has a number of truly great r&b tracks on it.

Regarding Sirius's original question, I have wondered this many a time. I think it's safe to say that it wouldn't have been followed up in the fashion that JT did.

Luke would've gone to the Dark Side, the Empire would've won, Leia would've married Vader and Solo would've gotten a job in an Imperial call centre.

What if J.Rocc had mixed the Beatles Love LP instead? (cross-thread R)

on the theme of sci-fi movies that could of been... Vincent Ward's version of Alien 3 involved a colony of monks living on a wooden spaceship. Why the executives at FOX got cold feet on that one I'll never know.
