Pro Tools 8 - Anybody rockin'?

I'm on 7.4.2 on a G4 running Leopard, and was running fine till I accidentally updated to OS 10.5.5, which turns out is not supported. So I have a choice of either updating to PT 8 or wiping my drive clean and starting over with PT 7. The latter seems like a headache.What should I do? Is PT 8 amazing? It's a $150 upgrade. I have to buy CS4 right now as well, which adds up to a lot of money on software. I'd rather spend the money if it's nice. Better than having a $3,000 system that's useless.

    I've heard nothing but good things about it so far but haven't used it myself. There's a hell of a lot of new stuff that's been added to the software and it might be well worth your dollar.

    An alternative to paying for the upgrade would be pulling it off a torrent site (demonoid *cough*)

    I thought about that. I've been paying for PT since 5.x. I don't know if I can pass over to the dark side. Would that effect my ilok?
