font class="post"1b, 21b, 21lol - it's not rare, but you can't find it? There's always the Brothers album with the same cut on it (not sure if it's extended on the 12)b, 21b, 21I've had the record a few times and always sells for good money. Killer tune!

tony silvestri & the new ingredient on mercury

  • I had four at one point. No more.

  • Arthur Adams had a really good deep soul LP on Blue Thumb called It's Private Tonight, ca. '72b, 21b, 21and that same year, Jerry Peters had an excellent LP on Mercury, Blueprint For Discovery. i'd recommend it to fans of J.R. Bailey's Just Me 'N' You.

  • Has anybody ever heard that LP by Akido on Mercury? b, 21b, 21Looks to be some kind of afro-funk thing similar to Osibisa or Cymande

font class="post"1b, 21b, 21Yeah, I love that one too - but it's not rare. Some great soul tracks, and top musicians like Harvey Mason. I've seen it described as 'baroque soul' but it's more eclectic than that.b, 21I've got 'Spread(ing) Love' - I'd forgotten that one was on ABC? The LP version of 'Spread Love' goes on for 8 min but it's basically an instrumental stitched onto the vocal. Is there much difference between this and the 12"?

font class="post"1b, 21b, 21Yes I have that LP , I really like it.. it leans more towards psychedelic guitar mixed with afrobeat than just straight up fela style afrobeat , one of my favorite songs on it is called "Jo Jo Lo (delicate beauty)". That Brothers 12" is pretty rare actually! I have the LP and had the 12" (sold it) , the pressing is super loud but I don't remember any difference between the 12" arrangement & the album version (which gaffler stated already).

font class="post"1b, 21b, 21Maybe not where you live, but I sure don't see it making the rounds. Apart from my own copy, the only place I ever see that record is when it's advertised on old Mercury innersleeves.
