Def IV - Nice and Hard

This record is so fusking good. Every single track. Were these guys actually from Texas or did the album just happen to get picked up on Rap-A-Lot? They sound like maybe NYC transplants? Was anyone else in Texas putting out sample-based records this good around 88 when this dropped?
