well done tobias! (tramp records appreciation)

just got the new 7" release from tobias kirmayers tramp records and i must say this one is just nuts img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/melt.gif" alt=""1/1b,121b,121i am talking about the james reese - "let's go (it's summertime)"145"b,121when i pulled this out my postbox on friday i had to listen to it at least 5 times in a row.b, 21b,121i highly apprechiate tobias kirmayer's work for not only releasing some great unreleased and mad rare stuff but also trying to promote unknown talents and bands all the time. so many good releases on tramp! which ones are your favourites?

    The OG recording was reissued ages ago on Jazzman. The take Tramp has just put out is an unreleased re-recording of the tune from a few years later than the original. The info on the Tramp site says is more uptempo than the original but cant get the audio link to work...

I've rarly heard a DJ like Tobias, spinning theb,121most obscure145s and still rocking the crowed like there is no tomorrow. b, 21His dedication to quality music is unequaled, it seems nothing can drag him down. b,121Even if one of his parties isn't as successful as expected because of the lack of apreciation of the local people, he manages to struggle on his feet.b, 21People should realize, that running a small label with pressing of around 500 copiesb,121of each release is nothing anybody can make a fortune of. They even can hardly make a living of it. In some way they sacrifice themselves so that we can buy quality music for relativly small money.b,121That said, Tobias is even a top bloke, a really likable and earnest person. Don't be fooled by the slander on other messageboards.

    I dont think it was slander pointing out he was trying to pass of TPs as O.G TPs on ebay, that's straight up dodge and he was caught out, hopefully he will just learn from his mistake.     Of course this is fishy.b,121If people weren't misled, this would mean that there are people out there willing to pay $200 or $125 for a test pressing of a readily available 45 reissue. Who would want to argue that that's the case?b,121b,121What's up with the purposely misspelled name "Resse" on the handdrawn label? Is that supposed to add some kind of authenticity?

    this is totally shady. anyone who doesn't think so is a likely candidate to be stupid enough to place a $300 bid.b,121b,121when my reissue label's first release went out of print, and prices reached $100 or more for the copies, i made sure no one at the label,or anyone we gifted it to went to ebay to cash in. this is patrick NAGL.
