Jill Lepore's essays in the New Yorker are worth the price of purchase alone. This one, on the history of voting in America, is a really fantastic, informative read. Oddly uplifting in its own way too.b, 21b, 21http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/10/13/081013fa_fact_lepore/a1

    I think the New Yorker should be required reading for everyone in America. Their writing on Obama's political development and policy focus are simply phenomenal.

    Too many words. I already read the daily local, and soulstrut and 538 everyday. F'n NYer comes out every week with these 37,542,142 word essays and cartoons that are a parody of themselves. I just don't have the time. b,121b, 21So, can you give a quick 7 line synopsis?
