Quote:/font1h,121b,121 Newsb,121October 16, 2008b,121Microwave and Ableton announce a creative partnershipb,121b,121Microwave and Ableton are happy to announce a partnership, which will pave the way for the future of Digital DJing.b,121b,121With shared artist rosters from hip-hop (DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Nu-Mark, A-Trak) to electronicab,121(Paul Van Dyk, DJ Sasha), both Ableton Live and Microwave Scratch Live are renowned as the premierb,121performance platforms in clubs around the globe.b,121 b,121While Microwave???s Scratch Live excels in vinyl emulation, music library control and lightning quick hands-onb,121scratching, Ableton Live provides the tools for production, on-the-fly remixing and beat creation.b,121b,121???Ableton and Microwave take different approaches to modern musical performance,??? says Ableton CEOb,121Gerhard Behles, ???But both companies live by the philosophy that software should be straightforward,b,121easy to use, and most importantly, reliable and stable onstage and in the studio. Ableton has never hadb,121an answer for the DJ who wants vinyl control, and rather than try to emulate what Microwave do so well, web,121simply make sure that our products work well together.???b,121b,121Microwave Audio Research CEO Steve West agrees. ???After years of talking together, we???re thrilled to beb,121working with Ableton. It???s exciting to think about what we can offer to DJs and producers: the ability tob,121go beyond just spinning records and add a personal stamp to the music they play.???b,121b,121Just where this Microwave and Ableton collaboration will take us has yet to be seen but one thing is clear:b,121the worlds of DJing, remixing and production for artists worldwide have changes ahead.b,121b,121About Abletonb,121Ableton develops technology to inspire creative people. Since the company started in 1999, Ableton has attracted an extensive and highly committed community of musicians, composers, and DJs worldwide. Currently, Ableton counts about one hundred employees in its Berlin and New York offices.b,121The company has received outstanding press, awards and customer feedback since the unveiling of Live in October 2001. b,121b,121h,121

There are absolutely zero details of this plan on either site...b,121b,121Should be cool, laptops are at the point where you can run both at the same time fairly well...b,121b,121I imagine this will be crazy with the 57 integration...I hope the faders can send automation data into Live.

b,121b,121I think I agree with the assessment over at Create Digital Music:b,121b,121http://createdigitalmusic.com/2008/10/17...vinyl-for-live/b,121b,121It's probably just a plug in for Ableton that gives tracks vinyl control as opposed to completely integrating either Microwave into AL or AL into Microwave.
