I really just copped it to see Tracy Reed, but the scene where they give the teacher an award (The Collected Works of Stevie Wonder) had mad ballin' like a baby.b,121b,121object width="425" height="344"1param name="movie" value=""1/param1param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"1/param1embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"1/embed1/object1b,121b,121+b,121b,121object width="425" height="344"1param name="movie" value=""1/param1param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"1/param1embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"1/embed1/object1b,121b,121Sheryl Lee Ralph =

font class="post"1b,121b,121I don't remember the "Stevie Wonder" scene...but was this the flick where Sidney Poitier dropped a dollar bill on the floor and dared one of his students to pick it up? And then somebody actually tries, but then Poitier kicks ol' boy right in the ass when he bends over? Even though I got the moral of that story, that scene used to have me laughing loud and long when they showed it on TV...you'd have to see it, the camera angle (IIRC) from Poitier's perspective plays a huge part in the humor.b,121b,121When I was coming up in the late '70s/early '80s and scanning the TV guide for any good movies, not a lot of 1970's black movies were shown...for the hell of it, here's a list of the ones I remember seeing:b,121b,121[i]Cooley High/i1b,121[i]Car Wash/i1b,121all the [i]Shaft/i1 flicksb,121i1Five On The Black Hand Side/i1 (saw this one exactly ONCE!)b,121all the Poitier/Cosby "buddy" flicks (that includes i1A Piece Of The Action/i1)b,121[i]Claudine/i1b,121[i]Cotton Comes To Harlem/i1b,121both of the [i]Sounder/i1 moviesb,121[i]Slaves/i1 (technically from '69, but right in the groove of what I'm talking about)b,121b,121None of the pimp movies like [i]Superfly/i1, none of the concert flicks like [i]Wattstax/i1 or [i]Soul To Soul/i1, no Pam Grier asskickers. I do remember seeing [i]Watermelon Man/i1 and [i]Blacula/i1 on TV well into the middle of the '80s, but not much else.

font class="post"1b,121b,121It was in 1986 on some newly-formed TV station that was showing a whole bunch of off-the-wall shit. Even odder, they accidentally showed a segment of the movie [i]twice/i1.
