someone needs to remix Melle Mel's Run tuneb,121b,121or do a mixtape of all theseb,121b,121"Found On YouTube: 800 Songs About Barack Obamab,121b,121"ObamaSongs" painstakingly tracked down precisely 800 songs about Barack Obama from the wilds of YouTube and assembled into a single collection for easy viewing.b,121The chart to the right shows that whoever is responsible for this found more songs closer to the election, which makes sense.b,121Because nobody has the time to plow through hundreds of songs about Barack Obama in one sitting, even on a Friday, "ObamaSongs" courteously created a 137-song playlist of his favorites.b,121This got us wondering: which candidate has a stronger YouTube presence? A search for "McCain song" pulled up about 15,200 videos, while a search for "Obama song" returned around 49,700 videos.
b,121I'm pretty sure people were talking about him during the 2004 DNC.

font class="post"1b,121b,121There was that, and I believe a couple people have posted up finds of the Obama-narrated, double-LP gatefold of i1Dreams from My Father[/i], which came out what, back in '95?b,121b,121b,121
I was in Chicago for work during the 2004 Illinois Senate race, pre-DNC speech. b,121b,121Obama vs. Jack Ryan vs. Alan Keyes was high political comedy and is under-discussed in 2008.

font class="post"1b,121b,121It's interesting that Obama has run against several candidates who end up shooting themselves in the foot -- Jack Ryan trying to get his wife into S&M; Alan Keyes basically being Alan Keyes; McCain picking Palin and acting erratic as heck. Even Hillary's campaign was scatterbrained, though still seemingly Obama's toughest opponent as of yet.

font class="post"1b,121b,121i first heard of him in the dem primary for this race. the reader article about all the candidates (dems and repubs, prior to the jack ryan revelations i think) mentioned that obama seems 'senatorial', lol
b,121First post: "I can't see downstate Ill. Dems voting in a big way for a Mr. Barak [sic] Obama. Blair Hull, unwounded, would have been a significant favorite....If Obama wins the primary, this seat goes from likely Dem pickup to retainable."

font class="post"1b,121b,121Yeah, this occurred to me too. Although who knows how much is good luck and how much is good timing. I was a little surprised that he chose to run for president this year instead of building up a little more experience in the Senate, but clearly he saw an opportunity and went for it.
so there's plenty of obama signs in my neighborhood.b,121but some dickhead had to outdo everyone else with his Obama 2004 sign.b,121b,121it's like he's trying to rub it in everyone's face that you all have reissues but i got the og sign.
