Anybody else excited for this Darren Aronofsky movie?     I swore off this guy's films after Requiem for a Dream, but this movie does look good. Seems like he might have toned down his seriousness a bit, but at the same time made a more grown up movie. b, 21b, 21Didn't think Rourke could look more messed up than he did in Sin City, but there he is. Is that mostly make-up? Please say yes. b, 21b, 21Marisa did indeed get naked in Before the Devil Knows You're Dead -- a very depressing flick but still good.

    aronofsky is a love or hate. b, 21b, 21fountain: story kind of sucks, visuals at the end are awesome, acting is pretty meh.

    It looks like a corny combination of all the Rocky movies plus Over the Top with Stallone.b, 21b, 21Washed up star taking one last fight against the wishes of his friends and family? Check. Estranged daughter who thinks she's too good for her washed up dad/resents that he was never around when she was growing up, whose love he desperately seeks? Check. Earnest romantic entreaties aimed at the neighborhood stripper girl who is treated like meat at work but whose humanity shines through to him clear as day? Check. Loved by his hometown fans but nonetheless forced to watch helplessly as his beloved sport passes him by in a new era of big money and technology? Check....

    I finally figured out how his face got so messed up. Apparently during his early 90s pro-boxing phase, he broke a lot of his face on other guys hands. I was worried that it was some plastic surgery gone wrong kinda thing. b, 21b, 21Pi sucked ballz.
