i am fully into the catalog from aftermath to goats head soup also metamorphis side 2 gets major love[since those were mostly sticky fingers out takes]b,121b,121these are my statsb,121b,1211.brian jones was GODb,1212.Jimmy miller was a motherfuckker of a producer/andy johns was a seriously talented engineerb,1213.that run from beggars banquet to exile was perfect in many respectsb,1214.i admit i am a fanboy and enjoy their stuff more than the beatlesb,1215.many of their records and 45s are worth mad lootb,1216.the horns came in with mick taylor and also left with himb,1217.i met mick jagger -he is short, wobbily and elastic and looks like don knots on acid and is super polite and "distinguished"b,1218.i would have rather met keefb,1219.my best friend met keef wandering thru the market in ocho rios, jamaica -i was going to go on that car trip across the island but hung back that day to chill with a girl and get higher-a choice i will always regret since i am such a fanboy b,12110 before my mum died the stones were her fave band and she had many of their recordsb,121and i associate all of their music with the best part my childhood and my mumb,12111.for show and tell in the 4th grade i brought in a picture of keef, obviously high on junk and said"this is what i'm gonna be when i grow up"b,121they called my mum in shock and she laughed at themb,12112.i read up and down with the rolling stones which was a trashy novel written by spanish tony-keef's dealer when i was in the 5th grade and i had a different take on the world than most kids my age after thatb,121b,121 i am hella bored at work doing hard drive back ups hence this long winded ass postb,121carry on

I don't take you as a stones fan. b,121b,121Paint It Black on 45 anytime of the day for me.

2 years ago at The Raleigh hotel in Miami, during the conference, I walked downstairs to the lobby and walked through the restaurant / lounge area to go to the party outside at the pool. The place was eerily deserted of anyone, including wait staff, except for the funny looking guy sitting in the corner drinking brandy. I looked at him closely as I went through the doors and, sure enough, it was Keith. Strangest sight ever...b,121b,121Exile is top 5 albums of any genre to me.

  • My mom went to see the Stones in 1975 eight months pregnant with my little brother, and she had floor seats! She told me she wanted Mick to deliver the baby on-stage. This didn't happen but my brother is a huge Stones fan to this day.b,121Mom's favorite Stones album is "Let it Bleed" and as a kid she would always say "you can't always get what you want" to me. Use to drive me crazy.

Their first album is hella underrated. Definitely my fave Stones elpee (tied with [i]Sticky Fingers/i1).

I definitely enjoy the "golden era" Stones most but can appreciate the earlier stuff and have never spent any significant amount of time delving into the post-'70s material. b,121b,121There's a nice fall breeze coming through the door -- I think it might be a perfect time for a drink of Scotch and a few sides of [i]Exile/i1. b,121b,121Their song "Far Away Eyes" was probably one of the first country songs that I really loved. Take that as you will.

  • love 'em. i had to grow to love them, though. when i was a kid i thought they were corny because my parents liked them. i listened to "exile on main st." all the way through--the first stones' album i did that with--when i was 20. a rabid stones fan was born. "miss you" is my favorite stones song. let the clowning begin.

  • I'll ride for everything up to and including Goats Head Soup, with an emphasis on 65 - 69 stuff like Between the Buttons, Aftermath and Satanic Majesty's Request.

  • I really resisted listening to the Stones, in fact I was actively hostile to them in my youth (I transferred into a preppy public school that listened to about nothing but the Stones, Who, and the Kinks). I am sure it didn't help that I was there for the start of M TV and those early videos didn't endear them to me (I want to claw my eyes out when ever I hear Start Me Up).b,121b,121Eventually I grew up and could enjoy the early stones for what it was, kick ass music. I definitely ride for Let It Bleed, Exile, and Sticky Fingers.b,121b,121Now I rarely will listen to them by choice because I played them out, but I won't change the channel if they come on.b,121b,121Right now I have been on a covers kick and I really don't have any good Stones covers to speak of (I do have Cat Power's version of Satisfaction). Any recommends?

  • off topicb,121b,121when i was i younger I used to think GLORIA was a stones songb,121b,121anyways continue...

  • Y'all can keep your Exile; give me Sticky Fingers. 'Sway,' all day, motherfuckers.b,121b,121Though, 'Tumblin' Dice,' did find it's way into my proposal to my wife; the context was more important than the song. "Partner in Crime," related.

Also, "Fingerprint File" is so ill.b,121b,121I could talk about Stones all day. I got high with my father-in-law a few weeks ago and watched the Live In Brazil concert DVD. Shit was dope.

font class="post"1b,121b,121If it were left up to me, I'd set that Golden Age at 1964-72. That's essential Stones rat there. Everything since is optional.b,121b,121One of the goofiest things I ever heard was once when me and a friend were riding down the highway when "Brown Sugar" comes on the oldies station. He sez: "wow, I didn't know this station played any later Stones. I thought they just played their earlier, softer stuff..." ????????b,121

  • also Merry Clayton "Gimmie Shelter" (she is the backing vocalist on the Stones version)b,121b,121b,121I heart the Stones...have every LP up to "some Girls" except Goats head for a silly reason, I ABSOULUTELY HATE the song "Angie"...I dont know why, but that shit sounds like nails on the blackboard to me, the way mick sings the name "An-Jay"...I absolutely loathe that song and told myself I would never have it in my house. That songs makes me wanna kick babies and puppies. Is "sister Morphine" on a 45?b,121b,121Also, the few few times I have done blow, "Some Girls" sounded like the greatest LP evar. That is definitely the pinnacle of coke rock.b,121b,121b,121When I occaisonly do a psych night, The "We Love You" 45 gets top billing during the night, what an amazing psych track
