    So far my former employer is still above what I paid for most of it but we did take on a bit of water today.b,121b,121I'm just happy it's remotely steady - we did a huge volume of business with AIG (easily our biggest partner) and I could barely stand to look the day after AIG went down.b,121b,121The only thing anyone can do right now is hold, and buy (if you have any money left).

    Since gold and silver have become extremely hard to come by, might as well invest in them survival supplies while you still can.

    So far today only 98 stocks rose on the NYSE -- and 3,114 dropped!b,121b,121My track record on stocks is awful, even during good times, and despite the fact that all but one of the stocks i own are at there ALL TIME LOWS today, the 1 stock i bought last week is up...slightly. img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bonus.gif" alt="" 21

    font class="post"1b,121b,121By the time you retire the money you've "saved" in your shoebox or whatever is going to be worth less than what is now due to inflation. If you invest in something like an S&P 500 index fund, which buys stock in the top 500 companies, you'll be much better off when you get old. Stay the course (don't sell). Keep investing in good and bad times. When you're nearing retirement, sell off some shares when times are good and put that money into bonds. SIMPLE.
