Hip Hop Pressing Question

I always thought I had a good eye when identifying US first pressings when it came to 90's hip hop stuff.b,121Somebody just told me that if they have those little tears around the spindle hole on the inner label theyb,121are bootlegs.b,121Could the Soul Strut Massive confirm or deny this information?

Not sure if it applied to vinyl, but anything that Columbia/Sony pressed had a matrix number that was machine stamped. Bootleggers never had the luxury of going to a pressing plant where there is a machine stamp, UNLESS it was done at the same plant (i.e. some mid-70's bootleg albums). In other words, if the numbers are not handwritten, it *might* be legit. Or some labels had a certain identifiable mark. Columbia sometimes had the "eye" or something like that.b,121b,121Again, it's Relativity so it's one of those it might be or not.

    I was looking through stuff and I didn't find any Sony related labels with machine stamped matrix #'s.
