House of Stax (Heraldry Remix)

    Ain't copyright a bitch? b,121b,121The design itself (the total image) is mine. But the shield element is owned by Armorial Gold. b,121b,121I can sell shirts with my design on it (I have limited rights to it), but if you were to buy the design from me, I cannot sell the shield image to you. I would have to junk it, and make my own.b,121b,121Confused? Welcome to the club.

    No bitch, at best the fingers are trademarked. They are trade dress. If they are still enforcing it, they would cease and desist my ass if I tried to sell it. They also might own the copyright to the original image but not the likeness.b,121b,121So if copyright is involved it is a case of a derived work (I didn't cut and paste it).     font class="post"1b,121b,121The reason it looks a little off in its larger format is a function of time and function. I didn't have a lot of the former and the latter was to create an avatar.b,121b,121If I had unlimited time I would have made the sensitivity of the trace higher so that more of the original image was used, I would have made the time if the intent was a large image for something like a t-shirt or a poster.b,121b,121The Ramones image is a classic, but I am unclear what you mean by "suitable heraldic devices."b,121b,121Do you mean putting it on a shield like the Stax image? Or, do you mean adding to the existing form?b,121b,121I will say the original image is already heraldry, granted its modern civic heraldry, but heraldry all the same.b,121b,121The only thing that I find discordant about it is the clean crisp graphics but the eagle looks like it was done half assed. I would say that it was in keeping with the punk origins of the band but wouldn't the whole thing be a bit fuzzy if that were the case?b,121b,121Anyway, tell me a bit more about what you think it should be like and how... and I might be able to do it. No promises, life is hectic.

    I thought the Ramones logo would look better as an inverted 14th century (flat-iron) shield to better represent pinheads.b,121Then I see a 'bend sinister' band in 'bleu-celeste' with a NY street sign saying '53rd and 3rd'b,121The shield tincture should be in sable, with the following items (in white) top sinister and bottom dexter: a tube of UHU and a baseball bat.b,121What say you?

I would prolly just put the straight street address on the bar.
