    I hate seeing that footage, hate it. I'm with Olbermann on this one. It twists my stomach into fuckin knots. I wish they would not use it in such ways as that. b,121Also, I find it interesting that the people who are frequently obsessed with 9/11 have no connection to NYC at all/have never been. b,121I remember grading test papers from Wyoming high school kids about what new monument should be placed on the Washington Mall (this was late 2002), and all these kids could muster talking about is 9/11. I guess I just don't wanna be reminded of it over and over. It's not a helpful reminder or "therapeutic." It's depressing.

    b,121b,121I listen to as much talk radio as possible of all persuasions....can't stomach the Rush dude though, he and Olberman are in the same class.

Olberman's network was covering the RNC. how is it inappropriate to show what was airing at the RNC? b,121b,121of course the GOP is gonna exploit the 9/11 dead. that's what they do. it's not like MSNBC produced this video and was showing it for their own purposes; they were simply showing what was happening at the RNC.

    To be fair, I think some are arguing that to have Olbermann and Matthews cover the conventions is akin to putting O'Reilly in that position. O'Reilly didn't serve as a news anchor in that way (although he, of course, offered his fair share of provocative commentary on his own show). So, I can see why this is an issue now for MSNBC. b,121b,121The big problem is that this decision appears to be in direct response to a choreographed Republican charge of media bias favoring the Left; Fox gets away with its explicitly Right p.o.v., and the McCain campaign is now justified in declaring that the media was out to get them all along. b,121b,121I continue to be completely baffled by how this whole thing is shaping up.

    b,121b,121That's not what he was saying at all. His point was the networks would have know better and the RNC should have known better. The RNC was engaging in fear mongering and he simply put them on blast. His apologize was simply boilerplate and not worth discussing.

    Seriously, I really hope the *cough cough* liberal media doesn't wuss out just because they're taking some fire FOR DOING THEIR fusking JOB. b,121b,121I'm not talking so much about Olberman and Matthews, just the climate in which MSM are expected to tiptoe around as to avoid being smeared by the GOP. Fusk that bullshit. McCain used to enjoy the media attention when it was favorable, now he's getting all whiny that it's turned.

MSNBC is free to be biased also, the difference apparently being that they don't want to be. the backstory to this Olberman story is apparently that certain MSNBC higher-ups are uncomfortable with the fact that theirs has come to be regarded as a liberal-leaning station.

NOT seeing it so far. Going on Olbermann, unless he says some wild out shit, is just going to further the narrative (one which is quickly solidifying) that Obama is a media creation and the media=BAD while McCain/Palin=red meat, red blooded AMURRICANS.
