    Damn. R.I.P. He did a lot for the American wine industry. I'm going to have to pop a bottle of Mondavi tonight.

    Just make sure it's pre 2000. Opus One really went donwhill after 2000. Why someone would spend that much money on a California wine when they could buy a real SERIOUS Bordeaux is a mystery to me.

    Thanks for the Opus info. I don't really mess with the "New World" stuff myself. I'm hitting the Sancerre right now cause it's hot down in L.A. ... Plus, Bordeux & heat makes my tummy hurt.
