I KNEW IT when i saw all the train line stuff running thru there. the times mentions a development in the article that they say builds like a 40 million dollar 96 unit apt complex and i had helped my hammie at roosevelt high do a oral histories project with his journalism class at that exact location because all the current tennants are being displaced on some weird legality shit like theyre flopping or living in squalor which, i mean, they are poor, but they do not flop. its this building that basically looks like the projects except that the building arent the projects but rather a poorly constructed apt complex built out to minimal government specs. which is prolly why most folks think its a housing project. anyways, the article is ok. they follow frankie firme, which id like to add to my LA radio personalities list, and he gives a quick tour of whittier and the music history of the blvd. ok that is all.
