Yea, we already had plenty of Mandrill threads, but I'm listening to this album for only the fourth time. I had a mid 70s release from them that I never really bothered with, but this album kicks some major ass. Not to mention, the joy when I heard the DITC sample! Yes, I am a late adopter, but better late than never!!! I need more Mandrill in my life.

Fat City Strut is probably a better single than anything on Composite Truth, but as far as a whole album goes, I gotta give it up to Composite.

p.s. when fat city strut goes into the piano & latin thing in the middle:

    Fencewalk sons the whole album.

I ride for Fat City Strut, Mango Meat, & Two Sisters Of Mercy.

But Composite Truth's Side A is fuckin unstoppable....

Hangloose - Fencewalk - Hegalo - Dont Mess With People.
U can play that shit out. Drop the needle on Side A and walk away.

actually i just had a moment of clarity. i read his "just walk away from the record" line from a dj perspective. however...it is quite possible that he meant he puts the record on in the privacy of the batmon batcave and walks away while he is doing preventive maintenance on his bootleg utility belt, posting about taking field trips to the bronx and trying to get his online batmacking on. if that's the case, then i apologize to you, batmon. feel no way.

your level is make believe, holmes.

check out my policing tools. real shit. no pretend shit over here.

do one of the things on your utility belt hold wishes? how about batmacking cologne? i deal with reality and there's no fools with capes on any corners of my block.

That's my favourite lp by them so many killer tracks. It was the first one i picked up in the early 90's.

My favourite song of theirs is actually a slow one, "I refuse to smile" off this:

Both CT and JOOT are way better albums though.
