To promote this new release, Buddy has put together a mini taster of what's to come. Re-editing sections of the original mix and even adding a few extras, this is a treat in itself! You can download the minimix here... http://www.2600recordings.com/music/wdmmini.mp3 BUDDY PEACE - WOLF DIESEL MOUNTAIN OUT MAY 12TH... 2600 Recordings is proud to present the latest Mixtape opus from Buddy Peace. Buddy Peace has been championing a slow-burning revolution in mixtapes for over five years now. His pedigree is unchallenged - A Friendly Game of Chess (with fellow 2600 accomplice ZILLA ), Watch and Repeat Play for the Warp Vision DVD and last years' The Commonwealth Kids Mix with Bully Records' Carlo - pushing the boundaries and expectations of what a mix could be. This is a mix of broken hearts and block parties, unfaithful guitars and dusty drums. In just under an hour Buddy mixes slivers of over 100 post-rock, hip-hop, folk, indie rock and electronic gems. There is a journey here, a narrative of disparate elements combined, like the best indie film you never saw. But like every good mix it still bumps, leaving your spine aching and your head bristling with hopes of redemption. This is a limited run of 300 hand-stamped and folded CD's - available exclusively from these lovely people below (and our shop) come May 12th: Boomkat (UK), HipHopVinyl (Germany), AccessHipHop (USA), Wenod (Japan)http://www.2600recordings.com/

"Buddy Peace has long since been a stable of our mixtape diet since he introduced himself over the counter of a certain record store in central London, bonding tentatively over a love a certain dusty Canadian record label, Bully Records.

Since then he's taken the time to spin a few records for us at some of our earlier nights and dood even waxed lyrical about Tim Dog a while back for us in his column, 'A Crew Called Self'... in between his exceptional mixtape constructions and blossoming production career.

So its a pleasure for 3 Bar Fire to be able to offer this exclusive download of source materials that comprised Buddy's latest lethal mix on Norwich's 2600 Recordings, 'Wolf Diesel Mountain'. Its described by the label as a 'mix of broken hearts and block parties, unfaithful guitars and dusty drums' and all we're saying for now is Scout Niblett, Shellac, Battles and Tortoise go toe to toe with Mobb Deep, Sage Francis, Kool G Rap and MF Doom...
