Radio 1 plays, big licenses to Minstry of Sound, Ninja Tune and Anotherlatenight pre-empted the release of his debut long-player, ???Make New Friends???. The album helped Flevans to start blagging real DJ gigs, and took him from a headline slot at The Big Chill festival UK to Turntables in New York and the MTV Cannes Film Festival.A bit of a hiatus followed, with Flevans leaving Tru Thoughts (although still being published by them) and pondering, perhaps for too long, over tunes for the elusive 2nd album. After a couple of releases under the monikor ???Mooch??? on London???s Jack To Phono imprint, the label quickly snapped him up for the second Flevans album proper. A few months later and ???Unfabulous???, the new LP, was finished and eventually released in September 07. Again showcasing his original use of samples, ???Unfabulous??? took another step forward musically, with Flevans playing Bass, Guitar and Keys on most tracks. So to 2008; With DJ gigs across Europe and a USA tour in April, Flevans will be spending all his remaining waking hours in the studio, putting the finishing touches to his 3rd album ???The 27 Devils That Can Trouble Mankind??? ??? a completely live project with no samples. Flevans has been working on tracks with Kinny (Tru Thoughts), Sarah Scott, who previously appeared on Flevans track ???The Notion??? and superb Brighton vocalist Shona Foster.
