I know it comes with effects but I just wanted to know if the effects are only usable when you're using Microwave and not when the laptops not plugged in???

    Yeah, you can use the effects without the laptop, but you gotta get your settings and controls together and memorized first, because there is no visual aid.

    I used to have a 57 and ended up selling it and getting an Xone for a bunch of reasons, but honestly I really did not like the implementation of the effects, no matter how I configured the controls. They sound great, but just aren't nearly as intuitive as something like an EFX-500.
