Also new here. What's "raer"? This is used so often that I feel I'm not in the know at all when it comes to record collecting.

    lol
    ........mean?

I could be wrong but "lol" should mean "lot of laughs"

  • waxjunkywaxjunky 1,849 Posts
this french cat named "le-toupt" coined the term "raer" several years ago (late 1999?) when he demanded that all SoulStrutters send him "MP3s of breakbeat fast and raer"...

I wasn't on SoulStrut when "ayo" was coined because I was making moves in the real world. But I'm pretty sure it means "whoa, that has serious homo-erotic undertones"

I think we need to bring back "herb"... "The Crates herbed? Never that, son"

That said, good to see that the English language continues to evolve and incorporate contributions from non-native English speakers: e.g. raer - c'est bon, le breakbeat!

One of many definitions from urbandictionary.com:

"when someone does something way too gay, like accidently placing their hand near your crotch area.
a simpler way of saying "yo what the fuck you fag!". it's the role of "ow" is to "shit! that hurt!".

two men are walking on eachothers sides and one man's hand accidently touches the other man's hand
    man 1: ayo!
    man 2: ayo. mah bad

man 1: yo the other day i was watching two hot lesbos making out but then i found out one of them was really a man.
    man 2: AYO!
    man 1: ayo! but i didn't know!
man 2: hot? you still called it hot after you know it was a man? ayo!
man 1: ayo i did not say hot"

    Funny...

    Peace

    answer: "bet".

wow and please don't forget the man known as "THE HOOK UP" mentioned very POPULAR AND MAINSTREAM italian vocalist (in the 60's)

    Gigliola Cinquetti "zero in amore"

    as sexy vocalist........

to me,being original mangiaspaghetti, sounds like someone said your grandma' has sexy voice....

    being original mangiaspaghetti

Nice, very nice - - this, of course, not the same as mangiacake as a lot of the original Sicilian and Southern Italian immigrants in North America would call the prevailin' Anglo-Saxan-culture-dominated population at the time although this has continued into the vernacular of successive generations since...
