to answer your questions and to add to SS's recent contemplation on hippies: late on a tuesday night a couple summers ago a friend of mine was dumpster diving at one of her regular health food store spots, which happens to share a dumpster with a sound production company. she found records. knowing that i was dj'ing nearby, she walked over to the club and handed me a nice stack of themes. later, another friend and i grabbed a car and went to the spot. we unloaded 700+.

any other garbage stash stories here? what about having other people show up before you finish the haul? it almost happened to us. the whole process took at least a couple hours. it was particularly slow as we approached the bottom where records were marinating in rotting vegetable gunk.

To introduce myself:
Long-time Soulstrut lurker.
The other half of the ???ultimate instant collection!!!??? mentioned above.
Mostly collect/listen to records but also DJ at a monthly in Ottawa called Timekode (www.timekode.com).
Finally got a Soulstrut account cause I got some ISH ideas, got tired of not being able to contribute to the weekly finds, and want to list some ebay auctions in the sale classifieds.
