I usually try to avoid people noticing these things, but I guess 10,000 deserves some kind of nod. I'm embarrassed that I got to 10K by dropping 1/100th theknowledge that others have dropped in less than 1000 posts. But I've poasted some good jpegs along the way, right? Anyway, mad respect to Raj and all the Strutters, especially Boston crewand everyone I have met in "real life" except Great Blue Hills, I thinkthat dude wants to fight me. HOME OF THE HATTERS 4 LIFE.Here's the mix, "Deep Cuts" - 70 minutes of soul, 20 tracks, with alltracks taken from LP - the idea being a flip of the usual 45 mix ... sometracks are also available on 45, but most are LP-only, and a few are theonly song on the LP that ISN'T a 45! Gives us a chance to stretch out a bit.Call it road-trip soul. And if you don't want to hear the mix, atleast check out the intro - it's what SS is all about! Let's do this:http://www.divshare.com/download/3859120-7fa(edit: file fixed/replaced 2/23 - can't post the embedded player in the edit, there's a player below)I'll post a tracklist after I get it together.Peace to Soul Strut.

LOL - no, I found out there was a bad glitch in the file
I'm uploading version 2.0 as I type this. Tracklist coming up, too.
Should just be a few minutes now.
6 hours, then I take the file down for 20 minutes and all
hell breaks loose.

frickin A!!!
first version of this mix last night, a listen by me revealed
a weird glitch, mainly that from minutes 45-52 parts of an earlier
song would cut in on the tracks for 10-15 seconds at a time.
I have no idea how this happened, maybe in MP3 conversion?
ANYWAY, I have re-recorded the entire thing, same exact playlist,
and even tightened it up a bit, so feel free to download now, and
apologies again for wasting the time of those who DL'ed the first one:
And the track list:
Gene & Jerry - Take This Woman Off the Corner
Young Hearts - Count Down
Brenda & the Tabulations - Lies Lies Lies
Lou Courtney - Me and You (Doin' the Boogaloo)
Van Dykes - Hey Mr. Lonesome
Candi Staton - That's How Strong My Love Is
Sam Dees - Child of the Streets
Gregory James Edition - Love & Happiness
Earl Carter & the Fantastic "6" - Set Me Free
Della Reese - Who Is She and What Is She To You

thanks for the mix, off to bed will listen to it tomorrow!
congrats. What % of total strut posts is that?
I don't know, but at just under 3 years, that's around 1,000
days, which averages out to around 10 posts per day.
In another words:
Myeah, kinda
congrats to an essential part of the 'Struts furniture!
(and thanks for the mix, dl'ing now)
Or should I say, my deepest and most sincere condolences on your 10,000 posts. If there's anything we can do for you, please just let us know.
Thanks for clearing that up. I was driving around yesterday listening to the mix and heard the other track pop in and then back out a couple times. I thought maybe you were trying to point out some reference within the music at first and I just wasn't catching it. Then I thought either it was some dodgy mixing where you had bumped the crossfader or something because it was really out of place compared to the rest of the mix. Anyway, thanks again for the mix, and re-uploading a new one.
Btw, the into made me LOL.
haha.
no it isnt. i tried to no avail. i was gonna try to paste your head from the boston gathering pic, but ill leave those tricks to the pros like c7!
