One of Autsralia's greatest jazz/funk musicians has passed away. From his website:
Sadly, Jackie died just before sunrise on the morning of Sunday, February 3, 2008, after a long illness. There will be a private ceremony in Sydney for his immediate family, and a public celebration of Jackies life for the many people to whom he meant a great deal on Sunday, 10 February at the Harold Park Hotel, Wigram Rd, Glebe from 4pm. Messages to the family and tributes to Jack can be posted here, and a special news page also celebrates Jackie on a site in Hungary. Jackie played his last gig at the Macquarie Hotel, on Thursday, January 24, just before the Australia Day long weekend, where some of his close friends gathered last night to play and grieve his passing... It is very much his wish that the music now go on.

    Damn... fucked up news... I always wanted to catch one of his shows in Sydney...
