you're supposed to read the text from the two pages together. It's actually a Nas quote.
"She's got jungle fever, 'cause I'm black."
is the jungle fever the black and white fabric? it's been documented to death, but the dude who runs American Apparel is rather creepy, so this ad is not surprising at all.
are girls supposed to wear this jane fonda 80s workout gear as regular clothes? are females walking around the mall in leotards and striped tube socks?
It's amazing what some teen porn can do for a company. i.e. Making t-shirts and basic textiles into some kinda boutique shit. LOL. I was trying to get a plain hoody the other day and stopped in that place. $45? GTFO. Went to Target and got it for $10.

well, you might argue that the one from target was made in some sweat shop, but im not entirely sure of that. Beyond that though, american apparel stuff is way better quality, better colors (this is tha main thing), and softer than the target junk.

The main thing is long gone from this thread - lol. But what's to say I guess - they did a f*cked up ad, not their first, not their last and XXL agreed to run it.

Are you offended by it or something? What does it even me...(err unless it just means she has jungle fever )

I'm not offended by too much, mostly bad taste.
Is jungle fever everyday terminology where you are?
I would say yes, do largely to the song.
If someone said "jungle fever" I would (and most people might) instantly start singing the sng in my head or outloud.
And no one I deal w/ uses the term.
true. I would say it's known terminology, but rare to hear it. I can't imagine someone saying "what does that mean?"
I could be wrong, but I don't think the ad was designed with this in mind?
True true - I'm usually meh about the their ads, but this one was too, as you say, creepy.
Low End Conspiracy Theory?
I agree, pretty poor placement. Right next to a shirtless Nas with the text "'cause I'm black." it is rather suspect.

I love the warped scratchy sound.
he has a major porn infatuation which pretty much explains the advertising campaign they've got going.

So would you say they are helping out the community?
LOL
Kids be big these days.
After work hook-ups revealed?
True.
But back to those insensitive bastards not including a picture of a Asian dimepiece being "creeped" up on.
Huh?

LOL....
Nah I dont eat that shit, but I do fantasize about intercepting a hot woman goin towards the place and sayin "ill cook for you better than Ronald".
I do believe he was talmbout a different kind of hook-up.
13 year old ronald-hormone fed project tour girls = Batmon's steez indeed?

Colour me for thinking the ad is
