These two tracks are very much alike....think JJ Johnson was influenced by Rogier van Otterloo's track from the Turks Fruit OST when he wrote Make it Right for Willie Dynamite?Judge for yourself.Both nice tracks by the way.Dat mistige rooie beest from Turks Fruit OST (1973)Make it right from Willie Dynamite OST (1974)

    They do indeed sound much alike. I never noticed that.
    Check out these snippets of this soundtrack by Vladimir Cosma called 'Salut L`artiste' from 1973 (same year as Turks Fruit). Although not as similar as your example, the style is very much the same.

    Sounds very much like Toots Thielemans (Turks Fruit) indeed. They even have the off key 'whisteling along with the guitar' stuff going on.
    I found the Willie Dynamite thing kind of striking as the opening notes on the harmonica are almost identical.
