What artists' shout-outs and thanks helped point you in good directions? As a kid my sense of what was out there hip-hop-wise was definitely shaped by PE liner notes. I know a lot of experimental music headz still pour over the notorious "Nurse With Wound list" and it definitely does seem amazingly prescient almost 30 years later...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nurse_With_Wound_listhow about you?
