This Christmas, it's already been a year that James Brown passed away. Soulpower's DJ Troy and DJ Pari are regular guest DJ on Richmond's independent radio show "Mellow Madness" on W-RIR (www.wrir.org) 97.3 fm hosted by Mike Murphy. This coming Sunday, we want to dedicate a full 2-hour-special to James Brown. We will not only play the rare side of his music, but we also have some phone interviews with promiment guests lined up. Listen to Marva Whitney speak about her craziest stories with the Godfather of Soul. Tony Cook, James Brown's drummer for 30 years, talks about how his feelings after he found out of the passing of his boss last Christmas, and saxman Jeff Watkins recalls how Brown made him go to dinner barefooted. James Brown archivar and expert Alan Leeds reflects about the legacy of Soulbrother Number One while new Soul star Joss Stone shares her memories of her last meeting with James Brown only two weeks before he passed away.
