Rap 12s Question - "HOT WAX"???

So I picked up these two 12s - Show & A.G. "Next Level" and O.C. "Time's Up" - and when I get home I see that they have the same labels on both sides. On further examination I see on the wax that there is only on track on each side so I put them on. Both sides of each 12 are the instrumental versions only. They also have "HOT WAX" etched in the dead wax. Are these boots? If not, what are they? Who would boot instro versions only? They came in with a lot of record pool and Euro stuff so I'm really confused.Thanks,MCF
