I agree that Tony Joe White is what 1970's Elvis SHOULD HAVE sounded like, if Elvis had some direction, but there's no way I could say "eff Brook Benton" - even Tony Joe himself says that he was honored that Brook covered his songs. Can't front on "Rainy Night In Georgia" or "Making Love Is Good For You." TJW wrote these two numbers, and Brook Benton made two different comebacks off them...
