Anyone familiar with this record on Studio 1? When were these tracks recorded? I can't find any info.Im not a big reggae guy, but these instrumentals are nice enough, but kind of lack that rawness of the early reggae I've heard (assuming these are early).Do these tracks appear anywhere else? Hows this rank with other Studio 1 stuff? Thanks.

It's a comp from the mid 70's (edit - the later of two that came out in that time) and for a more raw sound from Alphonso, you might want to try Strictly Ska from the late 60s - also on Studio One. If memory serves - I don't think there's any overlap in songs between these two LPs - I can't speak for all the comps, etc. that are out there. I'm sure someone on the Board knows.

Studio One records come in all styles and qualities - an easier question to answer would be how this rates compared to other ska/instr records.
