maybe it is the reefer and icy cold 7-up, but damn this dude is soundin like summer to me right now...listening to his "estudos" LP on mps/basf and damn it is sounding so good. "encosta pra ve se da" is one of the most bangin bossa instros I have ever heard, not that I have heard them all or anything, but dude smokes!

  • word, dude recorded plenty of dreck, but i can't think of a record i've heard from him that didn't include a few really lovely songs.

    if you haven't heard any early luiz bonfa, you might want to check him out. his american shit is mostly ruined by the watery arrangements, but the things he recorded in the early 60s prior to moving to the states hold up really well.
